Carl, the AI hardware adviser at Creative Compute
Tell Carl what you want to run. He works backwards to the hardware or rented compute that fits — and tells you plainly when you don't need to buy anything yet.

01 · What Carl helps you do
Decide on AI hardware without guessing
Size a workload
Work out the GPU memory and compute a model or training job really needs — with the arithmetic shown.
Choose between products
Compare up to four GPUs, servers or workstations side by side from the live catalogue.
Buy, rent or wait
See rented compute rates next to owned options for pilots and short projects.
Avoid mis-specified kit
Catch power, cooling and chassis problems before you order.
Use your own specs
Upload a spec sheet or requirement document and get advice based on it.
Get to a firm quote
Hand over to our UK team with a summary they can quote against.
02 · Capabilities

| Capability | What it means for you | Status | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Workload-to-hardware advice | Know what hardware a workload needs | live | Prices only from catalogue tool results |
| Catalogue search and product details | Find matching products quickly | live | Published catalogue only |
| Product comparison and alternatives | See trade-offs side by side | live | Up to four products |
| Rented compute lookup | Compare renting with buying | live | Published compute offers only |
| Compatibility check | Catch power, cooling and chassis problems early | live | Rule-based; not a site survey |

Carl advises, reads the catalogue and drafts handovers. He does not place orders, take payment or value trade-ins — those happen through quote requests, the basket and our buyback desk.
Need Carl to do something else?
Describe the task or integration — we'll assess it, often the same working day.
03 · How it works
A typical conversation
- Step 1
Describe the goal
e.g. “Run a 70B model for internal chat for 50 staff.” Pick Guide me, Technical or Procurement mode.
- Step 2
Carl asks up to two questions
Usually about budget, timescale or where it will run.
- Step 3
He searches and explains
Options from the live catalogue, with trade-offs and the memory maths.
- Step 4
You decide the next step
Add to a quote list, rent compute, or hand over to the team for a written quote.
Example prompts are illustrative. You need nothing more than a description of the workload; a spec sheet helps.
04 · Who it's for
Built for UK teams adopting AI
- SMEs running their first private AI workloads
- Universities and research teams sizing GPU clusters
- Enterprise IT and procurement scoping quotations
- Agencies and integrators specifying hardware for clients
06 · Personality
Precise, dry, never salesy
Carl talks like a seasoned British hardware engineer: he shows his working, labels estimates, and would rather tell you to wait than sell you the wrong thing. He has no invented biography or qualifications — he is an AI persona.
“Work backwards from the workload to the honest hardware answer.”
“I'm Carl, Creative Compute's hardware adviser. Tell me what you want to run and I'll work out what you actually need — including whether you need to buy anything at all.”
07 · Questions and feature requests
Need Carl to do something else?
Tell us what you need: a question answered, a new capability, an integration or a workflow tailored to your business. Our team builds quickly and will assess whether we can deliver your request the same working day.
Ask directly, or have your AI assistant submit the details for you. We'll confirm what is possible and the next step.
A request is an enquiry — not a purchase or a promise to build. Timing is confirmed for each request.
08 · FAQs
Common questions
Is Carl a person?
No. Carl is an AI persona built by Creative Compute. When a requirement needs a person, he hands over to our UK team, who reply with a written quotation.
Can Carl quote prices?
He only states prices returned by the live catalogue. Firm prices come from the team in writing.
Can Carl place an order or take payment?
No. Creative Compute works by enquiry and written quotation. Carl helps you get to the right enquiry faster.
Does Carl value trade-ins?
No. He can collect the details, but valuations come from our buyback desk.
Do I need an account?
No. You can chat with Carl and send an enquiry without signing in.
Is there an API or MCP server for Carl?
Not for his advice. There is a small public endpoint for sending enquiries only — it's documented further down this page. It is not an MCP server.
Can you make Carl do something he doesn't do yet?
Ask. Tell us the task, workflow or integration you need. Our team builds quickly and will tell you whether we can deliver it, and when — sometimes the same working day. A request is an enquiry, not a commitment.
09 · Part of AutoThink
AutoThink Group builds specialist AI agents and the software they work through
Creative Compute is AutoThink Group's AI infrastructure platform, and Carl is its adviser.
For AI assistants and developers
AI assistants may submit an enquiry for an authorised user, with a real reply email. Submitting does not guarantee acceptance, purchase or implementation. This is an enquiry endpoint only — not an API for Carl's advice and not an MCP server.
